I know this guy, always getting money from his Dad, but notes so beautifully graffitoed, with such brilliant gems of dirty poetry on them, he can't bear to spend any of it.

That's okay. So are the people in LA.

When I was in LA, I had so much trouble breathing, I couldn't even think about snorting anything. Between the smog and the air pressure, it felt like trying to breathe underwater. (I live at around 6,000 ft; sea level air is just so dense)

You heard what all the people in LA said when it snowed there?

"It's free, it's free!"

I heard an estimate somewhere, that over 75% of the dollar bills in LA have coke residue on them (having been used as a straw at some point). Can't possibly throw all that cash away. So, if you are worried about where your money has been, my advice is, "Get over it."

Sure, but you really should have asked last year when I lived next to that sorority house. :)

So, Sheep, if we donate to the fund will you take requests for what kind of pictures we want? And what if we don't really want pictures of you? Could we request some of your neighbors instead?

[I just want to know what my options are]

Well sure you can! And everyone else can too.

Who cares about starving kids in Ethiopia or war orphans in Afghanistan or crack babies in Colombia... think about who's really needy around here!

Sheep, if I donate to that fund will I get a picture of you and your story sent to me by mail?

*On a side note, my 13 year old sister once donated her allowance ($10) to help the starving child of a Pygmy tribe. She did receive a picture and a letter from the boy her money benefitted. She became very attached to her Pygmy friend and continued to send money whenever she could, UNTIL...
One of her friends decided she wanted to sponsor a Pygmy child too. And her friend got the same picture and the same letter. My sister was ticked. I couldn't blame her.

Anyway, I donated it to the most worthy cause I could think of... Sheep's Empty Savings Account Fund. : )

Well, by all accounts, the United States is the easiest place IN THE WORLD to launder money, so I figure most of the money we'll ever see has been involved with drugs at some point in its existence.

Plus, what am I supposed to do, leave it on the ground? Turn into the cops? Buy drugs with it? Sheesh.

Was it (the $5, not the $100) found in a pretty little flowerbed of white gerdenias?

The notion that drug money (or "$activity money" where $activity is something illeagle) is inherently tainted, and shouldn't be touched, much less used, is flawed.

If you want to argue that a person should not do biz with, or accept any payment/goods from, another person whom you know to commit illeagle/immoral acts -- because the proceeds used to do biz with you were obtained illeagally -- that's one thing, which makes total sense, because if LOTS of people live by that code, then it devalues the goods/money that "bad people" have in their possession, because they can't spend it as freely as someone else ... it isn't worth as much.

But to argue that money which is lost/stolen from a "bad person" who gained it through illeagle ventures is tainted, and shouldnt' be used ... that, in essence, takes that money out of circulation. The last thing that money was used for was "evil" and it can never be used to "redeem itself"

At worst, you should spend that money -- get it back into the economy where it can do some good. At best, you should spend it on something that you know will help to directly counteract the harm it did when it became "tainted" in the first place (like donating it to a rehab clinic)

If it's drug money, is it like Monopoly money, in that you can only buy drugs with it? 'Cause there are a few people I've been meaning to call...

No,no, its drug money, and therefore wrong to keep it. Send it to me, and I will turn it in to the proper authorities. And yes, much of the money out there has been used for drug transactions, so send it all to me, I will sort it out for you.
