Sometimes I think of myself with the royal we. The British are tricksy like that.

What a lovely page. Any style and usage guide that includes "'We' can also mean I, which is obviously very silly" gets a thumbs-up in my book. Their guide to handy Latin phrases was also very amusing, although not, perhaps, very useful.

I find I start sounding rather stuffier after being exposed to British English.
