Extra hot sauce, please.

"You aren't getting the hot sauce? You wimp!"
"And you are?"
"Of course."
"What are you getting?"
"The lunch combo."
"Would you like some flames painted on that tricycle?"

Has anyone heard the "flames on your tricycle" insult before? Because that's pretty good. I was wondering if it was original.

Nifty personal blog you've got here. If Eve quits I nominate you for the new Dread Pirate Roberts slot.

As far as I know that insult

As far as I know that insult is completely original. I'd never heard it before, so it stuck in my memory. Remembering the look on her face when he said it still makes me laugh.

And thanks for the compliment (but I really hope Eve never quits...I love her stuff and she's much better about keeping track of quotes that I seem to be).

Man...this thread just exploded, didn't it?

Nope

Never heard it, but plan to use it at some point in the near future. *G*

I like "hot" in moderation. I don't like the stuff that peels the top layer off your tongue, but some sauce isn't bad. The only thing is it tends to kick me later in the day. Taste heaven = a night of uncontrollable heartburn hell.

Buffalo Wild West Wings is the bane of my existence! I love the wings, but the trauma is almost too much. If it wasn't for the trivia game they have, I'd steer clear, but how can I resist??

As for sour candy, BLEH!!

I'm Apple, and I approve this message.

I second the BLEH!

I eat chewable orange vitamin C tablets like they're candy - does that count?

Hmmmm.

They count if you like the sourness. If you don't like the sourness, you may raise your hand.

And as you can see, I did NOT manage to escape from my only available Internet connection. Thank goodness for crackers and peanut butter.

If I don't go home NOW, I will probably hate you all in the morning.

Tongue wasters!

Sour foods + toddler nieces and nephews = instant entertainment. That's a whole entire receptor group you people are... uh... badmouthing. And without spicy things, what would we dare our brothers to ingest? Vanilla extract is fricking expensive. All hail spiciness!

(Hmm... where does "spicy" fit in here anyway? Ahh, the science of hotness. Thanks, internet!)

Oh, the abdominal pain

I am seriously doubled over in my cubicle with laughter. One moment.

Ah...oxygen. Much better. Wait, wait. No, I think I'm going to be okay.

Mike, you are undoubtedly the God of Hilarious Internet Research. The research data itself may not be that funny - I don't have time to read it as I probably ought to free myself from the insidious grip of the Internet and eat dinner at some point - but you get full marks for presentation.

Good thing I wasn't eating any SOUR CANDY. See? It's evil.

Be glad you 'just' get heartburn... other symptoms can also be included.
(I know, heartburn on its own can be nasty. I'm just saying.)
Spicy= horrible torture

Why, me too, Jon! Much to the chagrin of almost everyone I know. "No, we can't put pepper on that. She can't eat it." "It's not that spicy, really!"-- followed by choking fits and screams of pain. Or, as last night, "Here's your bowl of bare chicken. Make your own freakin' enchilada. You know where the microwave is."

IT BURNS!!!! Regular old black pepper makes me wish I could rip my tongue out. *sob* I'm sorry!!

I love Mike!

Confession time

Well... though I don't have it to that extent, I must confess that most hot sauces do put me in a bad way, in the "overheating reaction" department. It must be from my Mom's side, because my father enjoys that kind of spice.
Fortunately, I also inherited her love (passion? adoration?) for chocolate. Karmic balance, and all that.
I just don't get the appeal o

I just don't get the appeal of having "hot" food. I think when I was a kid I wanted to like it, but it just burned my tongue and that was no fun. It ain't for everybody. Dangit.

I also hate sour candy. Yuck.

Introductions

Cebu, I simply must introduce you to my friend Meryl, who has the same reaction to spicy foods. In her case, she's practically allergic to it, it's that painful.
