yeah, once i was in lit class and we were watching west side story to see how shakespeare has affected our culture and how it has been represented. we were watching this as we were in the middle of reading romeo and juliet. a girl behind me said, "wow! look! this is JUST like that book we're reading!"

And to add one more...

When the movie Apollo 13 with Tom Hanks came out, I went and saw it in the theatre. After the show, an older couple in there 50's were asked by a little boy who was with them (prob. 9-11 yrs old)
if that really happened. The older couple said "No, it didn't happen - it's just a movie."

Either they were lying to the boy, or just plain stupid! Even more so since it happened in their lifetime!!

At the lion enclosure at a zoo, looking for the, duh, lions. There's one male in sight & a few females, when I hear this voice behind me say, "Yeah, there's the guy, he's got a mane. The ones without manes must be tigers."
Now 1) most reputable zoos don't put lions & tigers together, especially if they are in the breeding program & there was a sign that said "LIONS", 2) he missed "Lion King"? 3) tigers have stripes! I could have understood a kid saying this, but this was an adult.

Yep... another guy that gets as mad as me about movie history vs. Popular Stupidity. Speaking of popular stupidity, I was at a demolition derby one night (dont ask), and I heard a drunk say "Yeah, the Grand Prix, great car, they named a race after it."

Maybe I missed a memo, or got stuck on the bus for too long, but wasn't it *first* a ra--... ...ahh, nevermind.

Well anyway, love this place. Probably a little too much. Heh, this coming from a guy who bought an old police scanner *just* because it also picks up the cell and cordless phone frequencies. Heh.

Outta here,

something similar happened when I went to college. Some people in the dorm were in the common room, watching "Jagged Edge," when one of them said, "This is a total rip off of 'Fatal Attraction!'"

I had to point out that "Fatal Attraction" was released after "Jagged Edge."

I have to opposite to that one...my roomate in college had a habit of talking in her sleep. One night I awoke to hear her laughing like Satan and saying, "Hahahahha, just let the bitches burn!" She had no explanation for her dream the next morning.....
