"I found it's best to read that book outdoors."
--A woman on BART, gesturing to the John Grisham novel the woman sitting next to her was reading
Granted, I didn't see which one it was (though would it really have mattered?) but I can't think of a good reason for needing to read ANY John Grisham novel outdoors.

This book
, however, should be read outdoors, in full sunlight. (And I'll bet you never thought you'd be weirded out by WALLS...)

This is the only book I've ever read at two o'clock in the morning continuously scaring myself, and then because of the thrill, buying three copies and passing them out to my friends.

That book just floored me. And made me scared of my closet (which has this crazy little door in the back, a crawl-way to storage under the stairs). And Poe's new album, "Haunted," the a companion piece to the book (Poe and MZD being brother and sister), has hardly left me CD player for 6 months.

House of Leaves was amazing. Definatly a strange book, though. Made me want to get a measuring tape out and start checking all the walls.

I'm not sure the "can't think of a good reason for needing to read ANY John Grisham novel outdoors" comment isn't tongue and cheek--but if it isn't, I think your speaker was pointing out that the novel stinks. (See, it *stinks,* so you don't want to read it in a confined space.)

House of Leaves, whoa. Everytime I suggest it to someone, I feel like I'm selling them a nightmare.
