Phil-

Simpsons: Mayor Quimby's nephew threatening/insulting the waiter, who suffers from extreme clumsiness. Bart saw the whole clumsy thing while hiding under a giant Rice Crispie treat.

**Needs to get out more**

And to contribute my $0.02, I actually don't drink the alkyhol. Never saw a need to, and save lots of money just drinking soda instead.

I personally prefer like 5 glasses of scotch chased with a 2 liter bottle of beer (chugged). Don't worry about drinking any water, you'll flush your system in about an hour... trust me... The next morning get up and have a plate of cheese blintzes from IHOP. Not only will everyone be amazed that you are alive, but probably pissed as well that you can function...

Oh, and if possible - do this at a cousins wedding, it goes over real well with both your family and theirs... On second thought, don't take one piece of that advice... as a matter of fact, try NOT to do any of the preceeding... well, unless you like cheese blintzes. I'm amazed that Mindy didn't leave me on the spot... thats how I knew she was a keeper.

And yes, four or five years later, I am still embarrassed... and learning to spell.

I'm pretty sure it's Clam-ah-to, regardless of how you pronounce tomato.

Also, it's WAY easier to be born genetically immune to hangovers, than to have to figure out a way around them:p!

Archived comment by Paul:
One of the stranger things about alcohol is that if you drink a lot and ingest a lot of sugar at the same time, it makes you violently ill the next day. This is why hangovers from champagne are so horrid- there's the alcohol, the sugar and the acid from it all at once. So getting drunk on sweet stuff like Midori will make you feel like shit the next day, guaranteed.

If you want to drink and get drunk and not have the hangover, you drink something like scotch straight or with water, and before you go to sleep you chase it with as much water as you can stand to drink. You'll wake up having to piss like a racehorse, but you won't be hung over.

Oh yeah- and I agree about the Genny Screamers (Genesee Cream Ale). Horrid stuff. And if youve ever been in Rochester and seen the Genesee River, which they advertise is the source of their water, you'll understand why it tastes like that.

My husband is a Strawberry Dacquiry (sp?)guy - which is kinda funny considering he's this big macho cowboy. Just picture us in a restaurant... guess who always get the Strawberry thing.

I used to drink tequilla (amaretto tequilla - the best) but had to stop - made me 10 foot tall and bullet proof, which after a few "minor" incidents I realized.

Wheat beer: Ewww. Ewww eww eww. Beer, for some reason, dries me up like the Sahara(or the Gobi) - but wheat beer has the same effect x10! Besides that, I find it repulsive. More of it to drink for you folks, as a result.

Rum and coke is OK if the rum isn't too cheap... the same goes for a gin & tonic. One of the worst drinking(taste-wise, not projectile vomiting) experiences I had was with gin from a plastic bottle *with built-in handles*. I should have known better, but it was a college party with my brother's friends, and I was trying to act all adult and cool. *sigh*

Bailey's and Kahlua are pretty much on the top of my GOOD list, which is why drinks made from them tend to be my favorites. Mudslide... dessert and drink all in one... little to no alcohol taste... lovely. (The Mudslide at TGIFriday's is the only thing I really like there.)

As you may have guessed, my sweet tooth is about the size of Alaska(mmm, Baked Alaska), so I tend towards the sweet girly drinks. Sours and bitters don't agree with me, and send me to worship the porcelain throne sooner. Ergo, don't drink with me if you're going to offer dark beers or sour liquers...
All hard ciders/lemonades/Smirnoff Ice drinks are acceptable. No Zima allowed.

but i can say that im not an alcoholic any more, i graduated from high school and went to college, and sobered up (SERIOUSLY!)

Yeah, I was being hyperbolic. But I have known some small guys who could put away massive amounts of alcyhol. A buddy of mine (145 lbs, but he could eat a large pizza every meal of every day) used gin on his breakfast cereal--not because he was out of milk, just because he liked it. And he kept straight vodka in his water bottle in class. And I never, ever saw him drunk. Hello, Mr. Metabolism.

Back to the topic of bad drinks:

I've known people that put clamato juice into their beer. Which I have tried solely out of curiosity and it is seriously disgusting.

I sure hope you're being hyperbolic, Saint, 'cause tolerance depends heavily upon body weight. I've seen little slip-of-a-thing girls get sloppy and embarassing after two drinks and I've been known to have Guinness for breakfast when I was out of cereal.

BTW, there are better stouts than Guinness, but none with that amazingly creamy texture _and_ good taste.

Archived comment by Pman:
I have had experiences with good-tasting drinks, and the aftermath isn't pretty. Alcohol should be difficult to drink, cause men are stupid enough to drink themselves to death. Bad taste is a precursor to the hangover hell you will invariably experience the next day. Therefore, it is a running decision to keep drinking, as the bad taste is a continual warning - "Hey, buddy...If you think it tastes bad going down, just you wait..."

I'm not much for fruity drinks. Actually I'm not much for sweet drinks in general. The exception is Irish Coffee, with generous dollops of brown sugar and whipped cream.

Wheat beer=good. Guinness=very good indeed. Strawberry-kiwi beer=bad. But that's just me; your mileage may vary. I do think Guinness could be as reasonable a basis for a religion as some that have become better established. You just have to look to those old vintage ad posters for verification:

My goodness. My Guinness.

Bailey's is good stuff. Hot Bailey's and coffee on a cold day. Nothing better.

Beer... depends where you get it. Most US beer sucks, although some of it ain't too bad. A lot of the stuff in Germany was pretty good. Some of it was amazingly bad. Some of it was even fruity. ;-)

And real drinks... I dunno, I guess I'm a girly-drink kind of guy. Whiskey sour, usually. Apricot sour, occasionally. Anything straight over mixed with coke, as a general rule, but melon liquor and sprite is good.

Um, whether or not I'm over 21, I guess I play it on this site.

i prefer my screwdrivers 1 part oj to 3 parts vodka, i aquired such a taste while on a trip once, where we had 2 litres gin and 1.75 liters of vodka, and in our supreme wisdom had brought only one half gallon of orange juice. but i can say that after the first few drinks even if not drunk you start to get used to the flavor

now, now, boys and girls... where was it ever written that in order to be respectable, a beverage must taste like fire and bile? and what is up with this, guys? can anyone explain to me the commonly held misconception that the worse your drink tastes the more of a manly-man you are for drinking it? i mean really... once a bartender at our favorite- bukowski's- made a snide remark to a girl who ordered a blueberry ale, so i challenged him to offend my delicate fiminine taste buds with a real "manly" beer. he gave me something that actually tasted like meat. for real. beer that tasted like jerky had been pureed in to it. but without the greasy heartburn scum. i was not disgusted, i was just amazed. my amazement stemmed from not only the incredible approximation of meat flavor, but also from the fact that someone, somewhere along the line had thought the production and consumption of such a beverage was a good idea. and that is my meat beer story- the closest i ever want to come to being a "real man".
