"He's just singing along with the radio, and my other roommate, Scott, says to him, 'Hey, who sings this song?' He says, 'I think it's Papa Roach.' And then Scott's all, 'Ok, let's keep it that way.'"

I've had this one used on me a few times (by the same person - I don't fall for it any more, but I will answer when she asks who sings a song. And I'm usually just singing freelance, not to the radio...). They say, "Let's keep it that way," and I simply respond, "No!" :o)

LOL I can't believe that one still works! And people fall for it. Gotta love it.

I've had this one used on me before, though I wasn't singing along with the radio, I was just singing. A better one (IMO), that does require the person be singing along, is "You know why they sing this song? So you don't have to."

I finally learned to take my cool cap off a year or 2 ago and not be afraid to sing along w/the radio.

It was the most liberating feeling ever! Plus, I think I sing harder when I'm stopped at a light and I know people can see me. It's so fun!

Man, my Grandmother made that joke up.
It's old, and lame, and anybody who doesn't sing along with the radio just thinks they're cool.
