"Orangina."
"Red goes better with pesto pizza, though."

"By the way, what is "Kids In the Hall"? "

*falling over in horrified Canadian shock*

That is so wrong..... *weeping for the children*

I adore Kids in the Hall. Especially Simon and Hecubus. And the old man with the monkeys.

I read that book as well, Apple. I liked it a lot, although there were plot turns she took that annoyed me because they were so completely unrealistic- basically the whole going-to-Hollywood thing. But it was a very good read overall.

I taught my nephew to "crush people's heads" when he was four.

I loved Kids In The Hall.

Oh, and Kids in the Hall were so funny! I adored the Chicken Lady. And the sketch where the boys were wishing they were women.

I have a very faint scar on my forehead. I fell out of my high chair when I was a little one (it's my earliest memory!). I fell on my head.

Which explains so much...

I don't have any major scars, but I have a pattern of freckles on the back of my right hand in exactly the shape of the constellation Libra (the trapezoid one). The size of the freckles even corresponds to the relative magnitudes of the stars. And Libra's my birth sign. Weird...

I have a very recent scar. But, it's not from cutting anything. It's from where they were trying to put an IV in my arm and I was laughing too hard because I was reading a book that IGirly recommended. Hee!

Heh. Not knowing about cable shows isn't so bad. I have friends who don't watch any TV, so when I make a pop culture reference, it falls on deaf ears. It works for them, but it makes telling jokes more of a challenge. :)

That would be precisely why I never heard of them, Cebu. I only had cable when I was in middle school (pre-1996), and I have very basic cable now in college. I watch a total of maybe eight or nine channels: Weather Channel, AMC, USA, TNT, FX, Oxygen, History Channel, TLC, A&E. Out of sheer boredom I will turn on BET, VH1, or MTV. Maybe Comedy Central or (God forbid) the Disney channel. Or is it Nickelodeon?

TV Guide Online is my friend. It tells me when to catch my "Law & Order" shows (and variants), or the USA and A&E original movies...marathons over holidays and weekends. I enjoy the MonsterFest on AMC during Halloween and the preceding week. I wish they would show "The Ghoul" or "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir". Perhaps "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken". There was another one I watched over Easter one year..."Annie and St. Anne" or something like that. It was about a girl who was always praying to St. Anne on behalf of other people, but never for herself. Great movie. I just wish I knew what the exact title was. -sigh- Memory fails me.

Oh-- accidents. I have a scar on my knee from an art project. See, we made these mosaics by gluing broken glass to plywood, and mine was lying on my bed, and I figured that instead of crawling around it, I would just go over it, and...

Kids in the Hall was a sketch comedy group (Canadian, no less) with a thoroughly twisted view of life. I didn't watch them much, so I'll let the experts explain them in real detail.

Most of my scars are from dancing. I get marley burns on the tops of my feet, as well as the odd fingernail gouge out of my hand or arm. The one on my right forearm actually looks like a smiley face...if you see it from the right angle, anyway. My knife incidents are few and far between. Just that one time I was cutting up a pineapple...didn't stop bleeding until the next morning.

By the way, what is "Kids In the Hall"?

I took a huge slice out of my left middle finger with a pair of scissors while putting rivets for laces into the back of a dress. My rivet punch had broken, so I figured it'd work to use the scissors as long as I was really careful...

I basically skinned part of my finger. So much for being careful.

And here I was thinking that I was possibly the only person in the world to try and cut a finger off in the efforts of cutting chocolate .. I blame the swiss.

The toblerone piece was about 6 inches high and the swiss army knife I was using to cut it stopped at the bone of my thumb. I knew those bones were good for something.

It doesn't help that I was looking at what I was doing and thinking, "you know, that probably isn't the smartest way to cut that .... ouch!"

My sole interaction with wine in any restaurant is to adopt a French accent and mock the outrageous descriptions in any given wine menu.

Yes, I know not all wines are French, but it's my best accent.

I also know this makes me some sort of wine heathen...but, it's still fun.

Well, okay, Eve, but keep in mind you're talking about an exceptional hef combined with an exceptionally light-feeling pizza. I was thinking about the more run-of-the-mill pizza varieties.

But since you brought up local food, I popped open a Merlot when a friend brought over a spinach and mushroom Zachary's and it was a big hit.

Red, but not just any red. With most pizza, a cabernet sauvignon has too much punch and pinot noir has too little. Merlot is a nice middle ground; even a beaujolais would work. Red zinfandel would be okay, if you're into that kind of thing.

In the same way with beer, lagers and wheats are going to be too wimpy, generally, and pales will be too much. And stouts and porters tend to be too malty.

This all assumes, of course, that one gives a crap in the first place.
