Hello to all the readers from the Melbourne Herald Sun! Ms Amjadali interviewed me last week, and the story went up today. She wrote a great article, (and I don't just say that because of how flattering it is to In Passing. Though that might be a part of it. :-))

I read the Newsarticle online today. Hello to everyone over there in America. This is one funny site. I really think it's freaky that seven year old chic saying about being rice and not in reality...kinda reminds me of that freaky chic from The Ring. Suppose i should say Gday mate the the top huh? Nah, slater.

Hehehe thanks for trying to speed up the process for me Apple... and Steff for joining me up - I find all of you amusing in your own ways ;-)

Actually, Apple, speaking of the web site, you don't have to email Kat or Steff to join, you can sign up on the site, it's just that one or t'other of 'em has to approve you (which might get done faster if you email them first).

Don't worry steff, you and your sister never fail to amuse me. (Not in a "Goodfellas" way, where the mention of amusement can lead to severe beating)

That's ok steff...I only amuse me too.
Ofcourse, when I read Your statement I read it " abuse myself" so.....
you see...it's friday.
Feel free to do either.
Or both

Hi everyone from yet another Melburnian!

Unlike the others I heard about the site on a radio station and have enjoyed some of it so far... only so much I can sneak in @ work ;-)

A tad worrying though that a paper known locally as the "vegie rag" (oops here I get all Herald Sun readers off-side, keep the knickers on kids!) managed to mis-spell anonymous LOL

You seem like a great lot and I look forward to keeping up when I can.

BTW, if I do merit a bat I promise to let her play nice and not name her Buffy *grin*

cheers
G.

Discworld is my light reading series. I'm always reading them in between other series. Now waiting for the new one (Night watch) to appear over here. I still can't find Amazing Maurice though.

I'm currently entertained by the phrase 'May you live in interesting times'. It sounds so nice an optimistic.

Yes, kat, you may have a froot bat. You must love it & hug it & call it...whatever you like. Scyth, you too. Remember to post an (m) or (f) after your name, whichever is applicable for 3 posts (cuts down on the gender confusion).

Froot (Fruit) Bat Owner's Manual

1) No posting while under the influence of strong drugs, legal or otherwise. FBs have a tendency to misbehave when you do.
2) The Preview Comment button is more important than you think, especially if you're fond of hyperlinks. FBs love successful hyperlinks.
3) FBs have a secret, esoteric link to the Militant Grammarians. Capitalization, correct spelling and grammar, and complete words are appreciated.
4) FBs thrive on cool points. The more they get, the healthier they become.
5) FBs cannot die.
6) Keep this link close at hand. It's the FB home page.
7) The easiest way to qualify for an FB is to have never posted before and then, on your first post, announce that fact. Matt (as appointed by Montygirl) or some other IP veteran will give you an FB to love, care for and cherish for your very own for ever and ever.
8) When in doubt, follow the directions.
9) When that doesn't work, email eve@inpassing.org. She is the Site Goddess for a reason.

I can't find anything about stark, raving mad and sleeping on Google, so I'm betting it was coined by a friend. It reminded me of the Disney version of Alice in Wonderland.

Archived comment by ParU:
G'day Jo! -- Here's your froot bat.

And for same strange reason the 'stark raving mad' exclaimation struck a chord with me. When I was but a wee lad in college whenever we'd do something really *strange* our refrain was:

"I'm stark raving mad...but I sleep well at night"

I've no idea where that came from or if one of my friends invented it.
