Hmm, I think I'd vote for "Look what we girls put ourselves through to impress guys" kind of sarcasm. Also, I saw girls like this when I visited Lancaster, GB, where in addition it was so cold that every sensible person wore at least three layers of cloth. On the other hand it seemed to work out for those girls, as they had guys to chauffeur them, pay their entrance fees, drinks etc.
