Nothing pertaining to the current discussion, but something I wanted to rant about nonetheless: I'm pretty sure I mentioned, back when it happened, that this guy in my hometown raped an 8-month-old baby girl. Well, he finally got throught the courts, and was sentenced, as per his plea agreement, to 8 years. What is that, a year for every month of his victim's life? That kid is going to have physical (and quite probably psychological) problems her entire life thanks to him, and he gets 8 lousy years? People caught with a joint in Utah serve more time. Feh. Sometimes the world just sucks.
