What's annoying is local names for things that don't correspond to the official names on the maps. We've got a whole bunch of those around my hometown, like on the map it's "Concession Road Seven" but everybody calls it the Shannonville Gravel Road (despite the fact that it's neither gravel nor anywhere near Shannonville). So everybody gets lost. Then us locals get big tips for showing them where to go. It works well.
