I was trying to find the Bathhouse theater in Seattle once -- it's near Green Lake, which is a notorious cesspool of poor street layout. The theater is on a street that goes all the way around the lake, so I assumed that, knowing what intersection it was near, I would be able to get on this street and go around until I got there. I couldn't do it -- every intersection had at least five streets going into it, and the logical choices were never right. Once I got off, I would have to stop and figure out where I was and try to get back on again. I ended up on a divided highway out of the blue, and drove up and down the length of the lake trying to get back on this street again. Finally, I gave up -- I was able to find it the next day, but only after parking and walking aimlessly for several blocks.

Several years later, I am still baffled by that street -- it turns out it's easier on foot, but not by much.
